Boonslick Farm Tour Draws 85 Attendees
Harold A. Sterrett notes the Boonslick Area Farm Management Tour in Montgomery County on June 17, hosted by the Jim Foster family and the Wesley River and Gary River families. Sponsors included Extension Councils of Warren Montgomery and Lincoln Counties and beef and swine producers associations. The event highlighted purebred Hampshire sow housing, care from farrowing to 100 pounds, separate gilt and boar rearing, and a remodeled Jim Foster barn with climate control for eighteen farrowing houses.
