MP and L seeks 3 percent rate increase in Missouri
Missouri Power and Light of Jefferson City has asked the Missouri Public Service Commission for about a 3 percent net rate rise to offset higher wholesale electricity costs. The move stems from a pending wholesale rate increase filed by Union Electric of St. Louis at the Federal Power Commission, which may take effect July 27 with refunds if later reduced. Any funds raised would be passed to customers and would not boost MP&L’s net revenues.
