Three MHS Students Named Curators Scholars
Bruce Copeland Marilyn Melahn and Mike Nichols from MHS have been named Curators Freshmen Scholars by the University of Missouri Board of Curators. Scholars must rank in the top three percent of their class and score in the top ten percentile on the Ohio Psychological Test to qualify.

Buck Cody Frontier Jamboree Spirit Week
The Buck Cody Frontier Jamboree hosted by the Student Council has raised 208.20 to date. Adult tickets at 2.00 dollars are sold by reps for the January 26 show at 7 30 pm. Winter Spirit Week runs January 25 through 30 with events like Mum Day pep assembly Sticker Day courtwarming queens and School Color Day. Committee members include Janet Holtcamp Marcia Lees Chuck Johnson Ellen Williams and Pat Westcott.

Love Is. Vocal production explores facets of love at MHS
The vocal music department at MHS presents Love Is. May 7-8 at 7 30 p.m. in Emmons Hall. Gerald Valet notes the show surveys love’s phases ages and predicaments through songs dances and jokes. Like Vaudeville 70 it is a student produced and directed event with sets and costumes designed by department members.

Dixie Grays Salute Band Inauguration Ceremony
May 7 8 marked department admission set at 125 for adults 75 for students. Mexico High’s Dixie Gray Band opened with When the Saints Go Marching In as State Auditor Kit Band inaugurated. Governor Warren Hearnes and State AG Jack Danforth attended. Dixie Grays and Director John Willer returned to Mexico at p.m. after a rewarding ceremony.

Who's Who 27 Seniors Named to Merit List
Twenty seven MHS seniors were named to Merit's Who's Who Among American High School Students for achievements in academics activities athletics and community service. Biographies and possible $500 scholarships are offered by Merit Publishing Company.

Chile Supper Set for Jan 29 at School Cafeteria
The Publications Department teams with the Pep Squad to sponsor a Chili Supper on Friday January 29. Before the Mexico versus Hickman game volunteers serve chili or vegetable soup and pie from 5 to 7 30 p m in the cafeteria. Tickets are 8 cents and available from Publications and Pep Squad members.
