Corn Blight Could Push Some Farmers to Sorghum
AP Farm writer Don Kendall reports that corn blight may influence farmers in marginal areas to plant more grain sorghum, oats, barley, and other feeds as seed shortages limit corn seed. The USDA released a booklet on growing and using sorghum, noting sorghum yields rose since 1957 and that sorghum is similar to corn but with higher protein and fewer certain vitamin benefits.
