Study Urges US Cut Down Oil Imports

An independent study for the Ford Foundation urges the United States to reduce oil imports to about 20 to 25 percent of total needs to withstand future Arab embargoes. Separately, domestic drilling rose 20.4 percent in 1974 with a predicted 1975 oil output around 10.3 million barrels per day, while Sen. Jackson accused Mobil and Gulf of pressuring exemptions to avoid price rules.
