Ready To Debate Reorganization

Missouri Senate moves to begin debate on a 162 page plan to reorganize state government into 13 departments and the Office of Administration. The bill would grant department directors appointed by the governor budget and personnel control, with salary increases up to 35,000 for Health and Revenue, and 30,000 for other directors. The Office of Administration would oversee budgets and coordination, while some agencies retain autonomy. The plan edges toward implementation with targeted timelines from 1973 onward and legislative oversight requirements.
