Kennedy freed from Aden plane hijack ordeal
Aden South Yemen AP Kennedy, son of the late Robert F. Kennedy, was released after 18 hours aboard a commandeered German jumbo jet at Aden airport. Five Palestinian hijackers had explosives on board as women, children, and one elderly man were released earlier. The plane’s crew remained hostages, and hijackers sought releases of Palestinians on trial in Cairo. Kennedy told reporters he had been frightened but not for long and spoke briefly with one hijacker who recognized him.

Mr. and Mrs. Selby Eugene Goodpasture of Vandalia welcomed a daughter named Felicity Ann born Monday at 1 p.m. at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico. She weighed seven pounds eight ounces. Grandparents are Selby Goodpasture of Vandalia and Charles Stephen of Cuba. Mrs. Goodpasture was a Wan-Far R-I kindergarten teacher and Mr. Goodpasture works with his father at Vandalia Lumber Co.
