Coast drug haul tops West Coast record
Mexican authorities seized nearly 300 pounds of cocaine and 11 pounds of heroin in what DEA officials call the biggest drug seizure on the West Coast. Special Agent Charles Hill said the stash, if pure, could be worth about 73 million dollars on the street. Three men from Culiacan, Mexico were arrested after their private plane landed at the Tijuana airport, with authorities tracing the operation to a ring moving drugs from Mexico and South America to Tijuana for smuggling into the United States.
