Shadows of Valor and Dinosaurs in School Tales
A police dog named Shadow serves a 9 corps unit, obeying officers, sniffing dynamite bombs and drugs, and protecting a family. The piece blends childhood reflections with poems by Billy DeOrnellis, and a classroom note on dinosaurs Tyrannosaurus Rex and Brachiosaurus weighing up to fifty tons, plus a playful line about snow and spice from a Grade 3 Eugene Field study.
