A surprise courthouse reception marked Judge George P. Adams twenty years on the 12th circuit bench and the couple's fortieth wedding anniversary. Guests included Missouri officials and dignitaries. gifts came from Audrain Bar Association and local groups as the Adams were also honored by their church class with a gift.

Miss Mildred Eileen Elliott and Stanley F. Erdel of Mexico united in a candlelight ceremony at Holy Rosary Church Monroe City. Rev. Richard Hawkins officiated before about 200 guests with organ music and a reception in the church dining room. The couple will live at 714 Woodlawn Ave. she works for the Division of Welfare and he is Deputy Juvenile Officer of the 12H Judicial Circuit. A rehearsal dinner preceded the wedding.

Anniversary celebration highlights 25th wedding date
On the 25th wedding date the pink and red color scheme was chosen. Mrs. Maupin wore a white bridal satin gown with seed pearls and bugle beads. After dinner the couple cut the anniversary cake, champagne flowed, and they received a silver gift. Numerous friends and family attended the party including Harold and Linda Smith of Leawood Kansas and many other couples and doctors.

The Annie Arnold Circle of The King's Daughters and Sons held a regular meeting at the King's Daughters Home with a pantry shower and a musical program. Mrs. J.E. Smithey presided. Mrs. Guy M. Pitts read the Silver Cross item. Program chairman Mrs. Cecil Dodd led the spiritual life message, "God Is Love." Residents enjoyed hymns led by Mrs. Carl Bradley at the piano, with Mrs. Sarah Brandenburg and Mrs. William Bramble present, followed by visiting residents.
