Danforth Testifies Before Grand Jury Over PFA Collapse

Missouri attorney general and former PFA watchdog Sen. John C. Danforth testified for two hours before a Greene County grand jury probing the Progressive Farmers Association bankruptcy. He declined to discuss questions or answers, saying he would like a chapter-and-verse statement. The PFA filed for bankruptcy in May, wiping out about 12.7 million dollars for around 7,000 investors. Danforth noted the AG’s office studied PFA before deciding to ban its securities this spring and said the initial belief it was bonafide was later proven wrong.
