Judges Seek To Defend Pay Boost
Eleven Missouri judges filed a motion in U S District Court Kansas City to allow state judges to be defendants in a federal wage controls suit over 16 to 52 percent salary raises approved Aug 13. The motion aims to represent about 300 state judiciary members and seeks withholding raises until overpayments are returned. The suit names Missouri and State Treasurer William Robinson as defendants. The judges argue wage controls do not bind state salary setting and that applying the act would threaten state sovereignty and discriminate against state judges.

He urged the church to focus on spirit led work with minimal resource depletion and pollution.
