Johnny Cash Makes Movie About Jesus in Israel
Johnny Cash plans a 90 minute film shot at holy sites in Israel and Jordan to portray Jesus as a human and divine figure. He has spent 500000 dollars in five weeks, with nonprofessional Bob Elfstrom as Jesus and other actors from American, British and Scandinavian youth on hitchhike tours. The project includes improvised moments and filmed scenes near the Sea of Galilee and a Palestinian refugee camp, with Cash narrating and singing.
