Brooks Completes Great Lakes Training
Navy seaman Recruit Randall W. Brooks, son of Mr and Mrs Howard W Brooks of Montgomery City, completed an eight week recruit program at Naval Training Center Great Lakes Illinois. He studied general military subjects to prepare for advanced training in one of the Navy 85 occupational fields including seamanship and naval history. Brooks is a 1976 Montgomery County High School graduate who enlisted in March 1976. Airman Kenneth R Callanan of Vandalia graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland AFB Texas and will undergo security police training. He is a 1976 Vandalia-Farber High School graduate.

Airman Billy R. Jones from Martinsburg and Airman Kevin L. Pund from Jonesburg, Missouri, have completed basic training and are assigned to Sheppard AFB Texas and Lowry AFB Colorado respectively. Jones studied the Air Force mission and human relations and will pursue aircraft maintenance. Pund trained in munitions and weapons maintenance after Lackland basic training.
