Miss Amos Engaged to Earl Scarborough in Formal Announcement
Mr and Mrs Linwell H Amos announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Betty Amos to Earl LeRoy Scarborough son of Mr and Mrs Earl Shelton Scarborough. Betty, a Mexico High School and Hannibal LaGrange College graduate, works at Montgomery Ward. Earl attended Fort Osage High School, served in the US Navy, and works for Illinois Central and Gulf Railroad. The couple will wed Saturday June 23 in an evening ceremony at First Baptist Church.

United Methodist Women will host a district celebration at the church on Saturday with 9 am registration in Fellowship Hall. The event marks the United Methodist Women theme Youve Come a Long Way Lady with a 10 am tableau and period costumes. Key speakers include Mrs Longstreth and Mrs Ian Martin, with business led by Mrs Ross Swafford. An agape feast at noon precedes installation of officers at 1 15 pm and a balloon release at 2 pm. A babysitter will be provided.

The Laddonia Lucky Leaf 4-H Club met with 16 members two guests and four leaders in April. Theresa Davis presented Crafts and Susan Ehrlich Clothing One and Crochet Two reports. Kathleen Bishop gave an illustrated talk Fun With Food and Lynn Wright demonstrated Flat Hemming. Rhonda Cameron Kathy Strange and Lynn Wright performed clarinet pieces. Susan Ehrlich led games and Eddie Britton organized refreshments.

Donates To Council For IFYE Delegate
Ten members of the Town and Country Extension Club met at Mrs. Lierheimer’s home with assistant hostess Mrs. Thurston. Guests included Mrs. Warren Pehle and Miss Cindy Nance. President Mrs. Cleeton presided. Kirby Allen named treasurer to fill an unexpired term. Club will serve food in May at the Food Commodity Center and donated $5 to the 4H Council for Walter Paden’s IFYE trip to Venezuela, plus $5 to the Cancer Fund. Bibs were made for Audrain Medical Center nursery and a safety program on homes was presented.
