MMA Teachers Spend Spring Break Hiking Grand Canyon
Missouri Military Academy instructors Lt. Keith Byerly and Capt. Ray Campbell spent a week hiking 75 miles in Arizona’s Grand Canyon. They trekked Kaibab and Bright Angel trails, stayed at Cottonwood Camp and Phantom Ranch, then climbed out via the Inner Gorge and Clear Creek Trail. They carried about 30 pounds each using lightweight packs and freeze-dried meals. Campbell said he would hike again this summer if schedules allow. Byerly may join after university sessions.
