Chile began a mass treason trial for 63 defendants tied to last September's coup. The air force court-martial opened with indictments read. trials will proceed separately over about three weeks. Prosecution seeks death for espionage six and sentences up to 36 years for others. Civilian and military defendants include three U.S. attorneys among observers. Redbud Trees Are All Taken
City manager Neil Nielsen announced all 100 Redbud trees planned for spring giveaways are spoken for. Delivery began Wednesday to residents who signed up for four to six foot trees, the first phase of a five year parkway replanting plan with at least 100 more trees planned for next spring. The seedlings were free to Mexico residents who pledged to plant them along the parkway by the street. The program started three years ago after city purchase and nursery planting.
