Senators State With Ulett in Hospital Layoff Plan
Missouri senators condemned Dr. George A. Ulett for proposing to lay off low paid state hospital workers to cover a 15 percent Mental Health Division cut. Senator Cason warned a two month layoff would devastate those earning 200 dollars monthly. Senator Avery called it scare tactics as about 2,200 workers could face layoffs to meet April through June reductions. The plan follows the comptroller John C. Vaughn’s earlier budget notice.
