Wife acquitted of assault in castration case in Los Angeles
Aurelia Macias 36 of Los Angeles was found not guilty on mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon after a three day jury trial. She testified she acted to defend herself during a forced sexual encounter with her husband Jaime amid jealousy over his affairs. The jury could not reach a verdict on a lesser charge from the Sept 20 1992 attack.
