Empire State weddings show romance on Valentine’s Day
The Associated Press reports New York couples tied the knot atop the Empire State Building and other cities while champagne flowed. Thirty one marriages occurred in New York with couples like Laura Lee DiBiase and Thomas Rivello as cameras rolled. Nearby vows were exchanged by Ogie Shentov and Lubima Kalinkova as a parade of lovers celebrated in a high rooftop setting and at Valentine's Day ceremonies across Nebraska and Pennsylvania with judges, musicians, and civic supporters providing free services. In Philadelphia a judge named Goodheart presided over twenty eight weddings, as a councilman sang Makin Whoopee. Jerry Garcia planned to marry Deborah Koons in Marin County, Calif, with location undisclosed amid Deadhead chatter.
