In Melfort the civic vote produced trustees A R Babington and H K G Dawson re elected. Ballots counted show J H Stewart 113 S C Lancaster 102 H H Macarthur 92 J Ramsay 80 and 19 spoiled. High School Trustees Babington Dawson Young Humphries with 50 26 and ? turnout included 144 citizens with 45 women of about 300 eligible. Municipal officers listed include Mayor C O Hill and council members G A McEwen F T Jameson James Claggett J H Stewart S C Lancaster H H Macarthur W H Jameson A E Wild.

Hoskins Wins Military Cross for Amiens Bravery
Mrs. E. R. Hoskins of 11321 96th Street reports her husband Lieut. Ernest R. Hoskins earned the Military Cross for bravery at Amiens. He joined as a sergeant with the first draft in 1915, later became an officer in the 9 M battalion, served in England, then went to France. Previously a grocery stock keeper, Dick Hoskins was linked to the Melfort Journal and later homesteaded south of town.
