Annual Seed Fair and Poultry Exhibit at Melfort

The town hall hosted the Seed Fair and Poultry Exhibit on December 12 with Prof. Baker from the Saskatchewan College of Agriculture lecturing on poultry. About 100 farmers attended. prize winners included J. R. Dickie and Clift Bros. Judges awarded Barley, Marquis Wheat, and various poultry classes. Officers for 1919 were elected. delegates were chosen to attend the Saskatoon agricultural convention. The report also notes concerns about equine influenza amid wartime livestock trends and preventive measures by the U S government.

Charles Barnes won a sewing machine in the key contest at the Melfort Trading Co store. Lady Minto hospital will reopen on December 20 after several days closed for cleaning and fumigation. A teachers and officers meeting for the 1st Stay acc tldom Fria decided to continue Sunday school at 12 a m each Sunday. Hon W R Motherwell, Minister of Agriculture in the Saskatchewan cabinet since 1905, is noted.

Wilson's peace plan echoed in Allied notes and changes

A dated list of fourteen point terms outlines open covenants freedom of seas and equitable trade among allied nations. It calls for evacuation of Russia and Belgium, restoration of French territory, and autonomous development for Austria-Hungary and the Balkans along recognized lines of nationality.

Charlesworths Move After Auction South of Town

Mr and Mrs H W Charlesworth, who recently held an auction sale of their effects, left Wednesday night for Grand Forks North Dakota to reside there. Santa Claus visit announced for Melfort Trading Co store Monday morning at 10 o clock. Town electric light system started Tuesday evening at the power house.
