Fire destroys two Struble buildings and damages third

A Friday night blaze in Struble swept two buildings from the General Store run by G H Albers and a vacant Sioux City Brewing Co building. The fire also damaged the Fred Leath restaurant building. Firefighters struggled with water shortages and road conditions. no wind aided containment. Albers reported $2,000 in fire loss with insured stock. Leath property partly saved. brewing company building uninsured.

Wedding Anniversary Marks Twenty Four Years of Jager Family

On Sunday December 8 1918 Mr and Mrs Hein Jager closed a married career after twenty four years. Mrs Jager formerly Jessie Telsma. Eleven children born in the home nine living. One daughter Mrs Van Dyke of Maurice. Five girls and four boys helped celebrate. Family recovered from two severe influenza attacks. Seven people in the home were sick at one time.

Pereboom Versus Tyler Set For January Trial in Orange City

In a public notice the Pereboom and Tyler dispute is slated for trial in Orange City in January. The rival sides promise both views will be presented and justice pursued, amid claims of improper pressure and financial risk over a hand cylinder press used for the past year.
