Sioux County Fair Dates and Attractions Promised

The Sioux County Fair will be held September 12, 14 and 18 with plans for a stronger program. Manager urges county cooperation and early entries to the secretary John J. DeVries of Orange City Iowa by September 12. Two main acts announced Dolores Valiecite and her trained wild leopards and the three Toki Jans Japanese troupes bringing sensational balancing acts.

Auto Crashes Injure Men and Damage Cars Near Sheldon

Last Friday night a two vehicle collision near Great Northern bridge led to one car sliding toward a twenty five foot embankment while another wrecked. Chas Janema and three companions escaped serious harm as they pulled left to avoid a motorcycle rider and a second vehicle. Pierce VanderBrake and Joe McDonald suffered minor injuries. VanderBrake’s car was traded for a Maxwell valued at 125 dollars. County treasurer P L Ditmer escaped serious injury when a southbound car struck his vehicle, pinning him briefly and injuring his head. Careful driving is urged as roads remain hazardous. The county livestock exhibit is expected to be the best ever with many horses cattle and hogs promised.
