Court upholds death penalty in Sauk Village murder case

Illinois Supreme Court last week affirmed Charles McLaurin’s death sentence for the 1992 murder of Jarrell Edwards in Sauk Village. The court set January 14 for his execution at Stateville, and also kept concurrent sentences for home invasion and possessing a stolen vehicle while trimming arson and residential charges.
