Long distance carriers offer dial one service for businesses
U S Telecom and several other carriers operate with voice activated switching and 24 hour collect customer service from Dallas. Western Union promotes money wiring with a $10 monthly minimum and $3 travel card fee, while TDX Systems of Vienna and TeleSphere in Oak Brook serve commercial clients with high volume discounts and nationwide coverage. Some smaller lines still avoid dial one, affecting firms with monthly long distance use.
