IRS to close Markham office on October 27
The Internal Revenue Service will shut its Markham south suburb office at 159th and Kedzie on October 27 because the lease has expired. Ninety employees will be relocated, and the agency is seeking another nearby site though a permanent location is not yet chosen. Residents are advised to use IRS offices at Ford City Mall, 7601 South Kostner, or 230 South Dearborn for tax help.

Prairie State College to Start Eight-Week Session
Prairie State College in Chicago Heights will begin the second eight-week fall session with apprentice programs in Air Conditioning, Industrial Electrician, Hydraulics, Machinist, Machine Repair, Millwright Machinist, Plumber and Pipefitter Steamfitter, Sheet Metal and Welding.
