Farm Aid concert blends music and farm help in Tinley Park
Thousands braved cold to attend Farm Aid at New World Music Theater in Tinley Park featuring Phish, Martina McBride, Steve Earle, Wilco, Hootie and the Blowfish and Farm Aid founders Nelson, Young, and Mellencamp. The event supports family farmers amid rising farm closures and suburban sprawl. Local officials and attendees highlighted Farm Aid’s impact, noting Illinois groups have received over $300,000 and that the concert raises awareness and funds for farmers facing economic pressure and land loss.
