Veterans Day ceremonies are planned at American Legion Post 474 in Matteson at 11 a.m. November 11 in front of the post home. Rich Township offices and Shirley J. Green Community Center will close. Park Forest Library hosts talks on the Supreme Court and book industry. Park Forest enforces vehicle sticker compliance with notices, hearings, and fines. Crete-Monee District 2010 has a no-class day with park district activities for children at Crete Park District.

A Veterans Day exhibit runs from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday featuring mill artifacts with historian Steve LaBarre on hand to answer questions at the library 8018 School Ave. Blood Services hosts a blood drive 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Shirley J.
