Federal marshal Speaks at awards dinner in Illinois

U S Marshal Robert Moore will address the 18th NAACP Awards Dinner Dance on November 14 at 7 PM at the Matteson Holiday Inn. Moore oversees 46 counties in the Central Judicial District of Illinois and has a long career in law enforcement. Honorary co-chairs are Patricia Welch and Wilson H. Pierce. Tickets are $40 and available by calling 708 748 5557.

State officials back Howe land transfer to Tinley Park

State Sen. William Mahar and Reps. Renee Kosel and Kevin McCarthy backed transferring 52 acres of Howe Development Center land to Tinley Park. Legislation is in motion with Senate vote expected mid November and House action about two weeks later. Tinley Park would provide sewer water and fire services, saving about 80000 annually.
