Joint drug sting nets 32 arrests in Ford Heights area
Area police formed the Net One Gang and Drug Task Force to combat drugs and gangs. Ten officers conducted an undercover reversal at 7 pm on 16th Street and Berkeley, arresting two juvenile dealers and 30 buyers by 11:30 pm. About half of those arrested were white. several had warrants or carried cash. The sting aims to curb drug activity, though dealers operate at multiple locations.

Police Beat Reports Multiple Juvenile and Adult Incidents at Local Schools
A 16 year old Country Club Hills boy was charged with trespass to state land battery and two counts of resisting a peace officer at Hillcrest High School. A 15 year old Country Club Hills boy faced a trespass charge at Hillcrest High. A man fled Eagle Country Market with liquor. An accident on Plum Valley Drive in Crete Township injured one woman and caused neck and chest pains to a second. Cynthia Lawson, 28, of University Park, was charged with false impersonation after claiming to be a Ford Heights officer during a Western Avenue stop. Two Suzuki ATVs were stolen from a backyard on Ashland Avenue. A Homewood woman, Cara Hirsch, 18, was charged with residential burglary related to a September break‑in to a Flossmoor home. Detectives from Flossmoor, Crete, and Lansing linked break-ins. John E. Holcomb, 18, Sauk Village, faces burglary charges and a Lansing warrant, to be charged in Flossmoor once released. A third person may face charges.
