CROP Walk Draws Hundreds From Local Congregations
About 300 people from 20 churches joined the South Suburban CROP Walk Against Hunger on May 16, marching 10 kilometers to raise funds. One fourth of the proceeds support seven local food pantries, while the remaining funds fund global hunger projects through the CROP agency. Participants include Teresa Bermingham, Carrie Bermingham, Sandra Bermingham of Sauk Village, Barbara Cuddigan of South Chicago Heights, and Ron Veschak of Sauk Village.

Graduation Saturday at Saint Xavier University
Saint Xavier University will recognize 517 graduates at a 1 30 p.m. commencement ceremony held Saturday at the Oak Lawn Community Pavilion. Honorary degrees go to Eppie Lederer known as Ann Landers Frank W Luerssen and Gary Wills. Wills will give the address with Deborah L. Ryan also speaking. A reception follows in the pavilion atrium.
