Jackson urges churches to aid troubled youth in Harvey
The Rev. Jesse Jackson challenged churches at the 60th Anniversary Banquet of New Covenant Baptist Church to reclaim troubled youths. He urged collaboration with judges for alternative sentences and spiritual counseling, noting Harvey’s high juvenile crime rate and dense church presence. Mayor David Johnson introduced Jackson, the keynote speaker.
