Rich Township considers $10.4 million bond for renovations
Rich Township High School District 227 will seek 10.4 million dollars in general obligation bonds to fund extensive renovations and a potential auditorium at Rich South High School. A June 7 Education/Properties Committee meeting at Rich Central will review projects before a June 21 board vote.

Suburban district seeks 10 million stipend to offset county plan
Ann Dickett of South Cook Organization for Public Education asked the House committee to back a one time ten million dollar stipend to offset Cook County triennial assessments that reduce state aid. The provision passed the House Elementary and Secondary Education Committee but fell one vote short in the full House. Sponsors may retry. The broader bill would allocate fifty million dollars yearly to end the double whammy revenue loss for tax capped schools statewide. The stipend targets south Cook County triad districts where reassessment occurs every third year.
