The Rehfeldt-Meyer Post 474 American Legion hosts the Memorial day events on May 30 starting at 10 a.m. at Matteson village hall. A morning ceremony at 9:30 a.m. gathers at the memorial plaque in front of the region home before marching through Matteson streets to Memorial park for a main program with prayers, wreaths, addresses by local officials, band performances, and a community reception.
Cook county Assessor Thomas C. Hynes met with Rich township officials and representatives from Park Forest Olympia Fields Richton Park Country Club Hills Flossmoor Matteson and Hazel Crest to discuss boundary lines before the four year reassessment cycle.
