Village Board seeks record in housing discrimination suit
The Village Board authorized Murphey to seek record in the case. Schwartz filed the original suit in December 1996 alleging violations of the Fair Housing Amendment Act of 1988. The appellate decision found no merit in the handicap discrimination claim, while Marevich ruled the village rejected the housing proposal for reasons other than bias, though Schwartz provided evidence of potential intentional discrimination.
