Village board heard protests from about 45 residents at hearings on two Gerald Stillman annexation plans. One would rezone 8.22 acres near Homeland road to C-4 highway commercial and annex 8.22 acres with Elmwood lane right of way vacation. Second plan seeks annexation of a 90 acre parcel west of Cicero and north of 207th street for commercial and residential zoning with minor objections to 205th street extension.
Village staff presented a 4.5 million dollar budget to the Matteson board last week. Trustees adopted the plan unanimously during a regular meeting led by Village Administrator Daniel Dubruiel, the first administrator hired in Matteson.
Matteson District 162 votes to rehire four teachers displaced in a reduction in force. Danielle Warnes Geraldine McCauley Diane Keating and Paul Caulfield return this fall while Mary O Sullivan Condon is unlikely to be rehired. The district plans more staff and a computer rollout funded by Title II.
Richton Park village trustees will vote on a statement to clear the way for selling 450000 in bonds to improve the water system with a total project budget at 450000 rather than 500000 the referendum approved. bids open May 23 and funds reach the village by late June.
