Richton Park trustees weigh expanding the new massage business ordinance to include zoning rules. The plan would require special use permits in B-3 districts for massage establishments and day spas, with the Planning and Zoning Commission backing the measure. The Health Salon and two other local massage providers operate in B-3 areas amid prior complaints and a court-ordered license suspension. The move follows a December prostitution charge against the Health Salon and a subsequent legal review.
The Richton Park Village Board revisits a plan to construct a 10 000 square foot public service garage behind the Rich Township operations building at 22018 Governors Highway. The project aims to protect the growing bus fleet, with updated design using split face concrete for 400 000 dollar cost and potential future expansion. Residents were informed but no objections or attendees appeared at the meeting.
Sieden Prairie School students in Matteson ran an email project that drew more than 20 000 responses from around the world. They received letters and gifts from readers including famous creators and companies, with replies from Hawaii to Australia and beyond.
The Matteson Village Board held its last meeting in the old council room as trustees Dale Graham Shirley Green and Allan Johnson were sworn in for four year terms by Judge Claudia Conlon. New appointments included Joseph Perozzi as village attorney Edwin Hancock Engineering as engineers Betty Jung as treasurer and Rita Miotti as assistant treasurer. The board also named six members to the Electrical Commission with one year terms and reappointed other boards including Parks and Recreation Housing and Human Relations Plan Commission and Police Pension Board.
