Marian Catholic seniors win C-SPAN scholarship awards
C-SPAN honored Marian Catholic High School seniors Elizabeth Mellvaine Kari Napoli and Regina Reeves for essays on the 1996 election. Mellvaine received a $500 scholarship and a televised acceptance speech while Napoli and Reeves earned color television sets. The three join about 30 top students in Robert Rodey’s American Government class who chose an essay over a final. The 45 foot telecommunications bus will visit 50 schools nationwide, with equipment tours for students.
