Franciscan Sisters recall Sacred Heart School a former all girls high school beside Frankfort convent. Sisters M Scholastica Sondeman and M Doris Madore describe the close bonds among teachers and the student body. The school closed in 1971 and later housed elderly sisters in a nursing home.

Aldi plan eyed for Matteson store opening in September
The Matteson Village Board approved the final plat for a new 15,000 square foot Aldi Discount Grocery at the southeast corner of 207th Street and Cicero Avenue. A traffic study will determine if a signal is needed. Aldi will cover installation costs. Open Mon-Sat, construction hoped to start in about six weeks with a fall opening.
