Sangmeister pushes new southern federal court division
U S Rep George Sangmeister proposes creating a southern division of the Northern Judicial District to serve Will Grundy Kendall and LaSalle counties with a Joliet courthouse. He cites access issues from dowtown Chicago and notes the Dirksen building handles about 9000 cases yearly while the existing setup forces long travel for many lawyers and clients.
