No severe mental health cuts in Edgar 1994 budget south suburbs
Governor Jim Edgar unveiled the fiscal 1994 budget showing no major staff cuts at state facilities for the mentally ill and developmentally disabled in the southern suburbs. Howe, Ludeman, and Tinley Park centers receive varying operating and capital funds, with modest staff changes and planned renovations. The plan also funds Governors State University and Joliet Junior College capital projects and expands state trooper training to support riverboat casinos and toll roads. The General Assembly must act before July 1.
