Man acquitted in daughter's boyfriend killing in Tinley Park
Bruce Thomassen was found not guilty in a three day trial of murder for shooting Phillip Rhode after a confrontation at Thomassen's daughter's Tinley Park apartment. Rhode died four days later. Police noted Rhode was intoxicated, unarmed, and Thomassen testified he feared an attack. Officials said Rhode visited the apartment multiple times that day seeking money and lodging. A separate public notice promotes a non smoking clinic at Thornton Township Hall with four sessions and free enrollment.
