Mother avoids charges after Sauk Village driveway crash
Robin Walker backed into a Sauk Village driveway on Peterson Street fatally striking her 3 year old son Rashaan Woods who exited the car to check the mailbox. The boy died of head injuries after being taken to Hope Children’s Hospital. Police say the driver had a suspended license but authorities say ticketing is inappropriate.

Steger woman dies after accident on Steger Road
Cheeta Loucks, 47, of Butler Avenue, died after being struck Friday night as she walked across Steger Road. Karen Rauhut, 26, of Hopkins Avenue, faces DUI and reduced-speed charges after allegedly refusing a blood test. Loucks died Sunday morning at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields.

Substitute fired after altercation at Chicago school
A 58 year old CPS substitute, Albert Banks of Park Forest, was charged with battery after allegedly grabbing a 14 year old girl by the neck at DuBois Elementary School on 133rd Street following a pencil incident. The student received a chin scratch, and Banks was fired from his position.
