Matteson Festival Day Three At Memorial Park Activities
June marks the third day of the Matteson Festival at Memorial Park 212th Place and Tower Avenue with events from 11 30 a m to 7 30 p m including teen talent winners, water balloon toss, chalk drawing, sand sculpture, Caribbean steel drum band Waterhouse, Friendly Farm Petting Zoo, stilt walker, Brass Bullit live music, song and dance acts Those Funny Little People and Garfield Goose and Friends, Chico the Monkey, Ameca Guadalajara Dancers, and Lonnie Brooks plus a community mostaccioli dinner hosted noon to 5 p m at Olympia Gardens Fire Department Station.

The Orca Scuba Club begins scuba lessons at Park Forest Aqua Center on Tuesdays from today through Aug 9, 7 to 10 p.m. for ages 12 and up. Participants earn YMCA Open Water certification after covering all skills for open water dives. a mask and snorkel are required. Fees are 180 dollars, or 175 dollars for Aqua Center members.
