New American university graduates nontraditional students
Governors State University’s weekend commencement welcomed a class of 1338 students, led by President Paula Wolff who called GSU the new American university. The ceremony highlighted older, part time, working learners and honored Jesse Jackson Jr. Bill Kurtis and Monsignor Ignatius D. McDermott for community service. Jackson urged graduates to pursue big dreams and social impact while reflecting on his Selma birth.
