Race car driver aids Will County students in STEM lessons
Five time world record holder Craig Breedlove teams with Will County District 92 to teach math and science using his Spirit of America as context. Students learn about decibels temperatures and fuels while Breedlove explains how rapid speeds relate to real life. The program links across grades 5 to 8 as Breedlove plans an 800 mph land speed run at Black Rock Desert Nevada with a 30,000 dollar permit and a projected budget shortfall of about one million dollars.
