I 355 hearings set for the fall in Illinois
The Federal Highway Administration approved the draft environmental impact statement for the first I 355 extension from Bolingbrook to New Lenox about 12.5 miles, with two public hearings planned in late October in New Lenox and Lemont. The project aims to ease south suburban travel and support a third regional airport at Peotone, with final approval and construction overseen by the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority.
