District 227 board studies goals for 1984-85

Rich Township High School District 227 discusses the district’s 1984-85 goals. The goals program uses an annual plans committee of 16 including four administrators, four teachers, four students and four parents. Five goals proposed for the year include evaluating instructional programs and middle track methods, evaluating the man relations program, improving school community relations, and expanding student representation on committees from four to six.

The Matteson community relations commission will hold meetings in each neighborhood to discuss alleged racial steering and impacts on property values. Little Calumet reservoir project advances after $79 million aid

The Markham Harvey reservoir will relieve 1700 Har vey Markham and South Holland homeowners and protect over 6600 residences and 142 businesses in the south suburbs. It sits on a Teacre site east of the Tri-State and north of 167th in Markham, 28 feet deep with 27 acres and 567 acre feet capacity. MSD Commissioner Connie Peters said funds came as a surprise but the project is prioritized due to advanced planning and readiness.
