Indispensable trio helped build Park Forest, first planned suburb
In his autobiography Carroll Sweet Jr. credits three men as essential to Park Forest creation: Carroll Sweet Sr. who conceived a wartime retirement town, Nathan Manilow who risked his reserves to buy land, and Philip Klutznick who steered the project through challenges. An incomplete list of others follows, naming builders, firms, and supporters who contributed to the dream city.
